Mid-life crises? You betcha!

Since I turned 44 this year I decided (yes decided, I don’t leave anything to chance) it was time for my mid-life crises! I’m not really the young boy-toy type, and besides I could never do better than hubby Pete. So of course it was time for a new car!

We went with the Chrysler Crossfire. We don’t really do the new car thing. Who wants to lose 15-20% of their investment by driving it home?! So we bought used.

Spent the whole day (after several weeks of research) getting it from Carmax. In the beginning we weren’t thrilled with the carmax experience. We left not finding what we wanted, and didn’t particularly like the guy who was helping us. Too “cars salesman-ishy”, but we came back a few days later after having the car shipped to Sacramento. In the end we did pretty well.

My new baby!!!

My new baby!!! sorry Buddha...

If you look in the background you’ll see our Prius. It’s our “sensible” car, and if you look to the back left of the photo (behind and left of the flower pot), you’ll see the front of our ‘97 Corolla. We also have a truck and camper in front of the Crossfire.

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole “car thing” at the moment. The corolla is about to die, so that’s going soon. The camper is like a guest bedroom for us a good deal of the time, and the Prius has at least a hundred thousand miles left in it. So I think we’re done for now. But with cars, who ever really knows?!

  • How many crises do you have? Very pretty. Does it at least have a back seat big enough for Buddha?
